What is a meat storage solution?
A complete cold-storage system is more than a room and a compressor.
A meat cold storage solution is designed around the product type, inlet and outlet temperature, daily loading capacity, required storage temperature, temperature reduction time, door usage and local ambient conditions. The refrigeration equipment, insulation, airflow and controls must work as one system.

Storage conditions by application
These ranges support early project discussions. Final room settings must reflect the product process, required shelf life, packaging and regulations in the destination market.
| Application | Typical room condition |
|---|---|
| Chilled beef and mutton | Approx. 0 to 4°C |
| Chilled pork | Approx. 0 to 4°C |
| Chilled poultry | Approx. 0 to 4°C |
| Frozen meat storage | Usually -18°C or below |
| Blast freezing room | Commonly -30 to -40°C air |
Match the System to Your Storage Needs
MAINTAIN FRESHNESS
Chilled room
Maintains fresh meat above its freezing point with controlled temperature and airflow.
Best for short-term storage and processing support
MAINTAIN FROZEN STOCK
Freezer room
Maintains meat that is already frozen, with stable low temperature and suitable defrost control.
Best for long-term frozen storage
REMOVE HEAT QUICKLY
Blast freezer room
Uses higher refrigeration capacity and controlled airflow to reach the required product core temperature quickly.
Best for rapid freezing before storage
Room dimensions are only the beginning.
Two rooms with identical dimensions can require very different refrigeration capacities when their incoming loads, product temperatures or door-opening patterns differ.
01
Room dimension
Length, width, height and floor construction
02
Product profile
Meat type, packaging and maximum stored quantity
03
Daily incoming load
Quantity entering the room during each operating cycle
04
Temperature path
Inlet and outlet temperature, target temperature and allowed time
05

Questions buyers ask before selecting a system
What temperature should a meat cold room maintain?
The required temperature depends on meat type, packaging, storage duration and whether the product is chilled or frozen. Chilled-meat rooms are commonly designed close to 0 to 4°C, while frozen-meat storage is commonly maintained at -18°C or below. Final settings must follow the applicable process and local regulations.
How is refrigeration capacity calculated?
Capacity is calculated from transmission load, product load, air infiltration, personnel, lighting, equipment and defrost requirements. Daily product quantity and incoming product temperature often have a major effect on the final selection.
What is the difference between a freezer room and a blast freezer?
A freezer room maintains products that are already frozen. A blast freezer uses high-capacity refrigeration and controlled airflow to remove product heat rapidly until the required core temperature is reached.
What information is required for a proposal?
Provide room dimensions, meat type, maximum storage quantity, daily incoming load, incoming and target temperatures, required pull-down time, project location and expected door-opening frequency.
Can the cold storage be monitored remotely?
Remote monitoring can track temperature, equipment status and selected alarm conditions. Available functions depend on the controller, sensors, network connection and monitoring platform specified for the project.
